Daniel Ricciardo’s on a roll, the Australian bidding for a fifth straight podium finish this season at the weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix.
A home race for his Red Bull Racing team, the winner of the preceding race in Azerbaijan is well placed to know the best way around the Red Bull Ring.
Describing it as an “exciting challenge” and a “high-speed circuit and I quite enjoy high-speed circuits”, a miniature backdrop of the track using digital animation takes you behind the wheel and through the twists and turns for the ninth grand prix of the season.
A hilly circuit that undulates throughout the course of the laps, among the highlights are the fast left-handers at turns five and six.
As Ricciardo, a week on from his victory, puts it: “They’re good fun,” and iconic, “with a massive red bull in the middle of it”.
He added: “You see so much support form Red Bull fans. It is motivation to get them excited and cheering.
“It has been a really good run lately and I’ll keep trying to score as many points as I can. The weather is always a challenge.”
Ahead of the weekend, Max Verstappen revealed: “I will try and stay positive. I am getting a new engine and hopefully that will cure all the issues.
“The track is nice to drive with long straights, hard braking zones and then some fast corners. It is a good combination.”
Christian Horner explained: “If we could sneak a podium this year that would be amazing as it is a power dominated circuit.”
